FLOCKPURE wastewater treatment plant

The FLOCKPURE wastewater treatment plant is specially designed for domestic applications and has a capacity up to 6 persons. The FLOCKPURE wastewater treatment plant is a fully biological functioning plant with no electrical moving parts*. Therefore the FLOCKPURE wastewater treatment plants are insensitive for malfunctioning and are low in energy usage.



Treatment process

The FLOCKPURE is a small scale wastewater treatment plant for the purification of domestic wastewater, where the purified water can be discharged to the surface water. The purification process consists of two steps. The first step in the purification process is the primary settlement (separation) stage. The primary settlement stage consist of two 1,1 meter cubes, where the gross solids and fats are separated. The gross solids will settle at the bottom of the cube, where they are slowly degraded anaerobically by bacteria. The fats float to the surface and are separated as a surface layer (a thick, fatty and hard crust). The wastewater without the solids and fats is suitable for further biological treatment in the biological stage. This stage is based on a fixed film technology and uses fibres to provide the inert medium for biomass support. The wastewater is led into the third cube and spread over the FLOCKPURE inert medium. Due to the special properties of the FLOCKPURE medium, a great quantity of bacteria grows on this medium. Since the FLOCKPURE is ventilated, it grows bacteria which are able to degrade the wastewater quickly and efficiently.

 

Usage of the existing or locally build tank for primary settlement

A existing or a locally build primary tank can be used instead of a FLOCKPURE primary tank. The existing or locally build tank must comply to certain criteria (for example: equal or larger than 2100 liters and in good condition). The FLOCKPURE 6ST2 has a primary tank included and the FLOCKPURE 6 is only the biological compartment.

 

*Usage of a pump

In most cases the treated water can be discharged to the surface water in a gravitational way. If this is the case no electrical components are used. If the difference between the ditchwater level and the ground level is smaller than 1,5 meter a small 12 volts pump must be used to pump the treated water into the ditch.
